World Peace-an unheard cry

World Peace – A cry unheard
Anuj Chaudhary

Did I hear World Peace? All of us have been hearing this all around from politicians to the beggars. But what is world peace? Is it about you and I living in solitude? Is about striving selfishly for ones means? Is it about power, fame and money?

We keep blaming others for our problems, miseries and fate. Infact this attitude of ours is the prime reason for distrust, animosity and hatred leading to violence, war and prejudices, hardly sparing any time for a thought that we ourselves are responsible for our destiny. It’s so easy to break relationships, hate somebody and get in to a conflict when nothing works out. It’s so easy to form judgments when somebody is not like us or does not belong to our herd. What stems from such an attitude is the root cause for destruction of oneself and others. It’s so difficult to believe that we can make a difference to this planet?

A deep insight into our lives will tell us that world peace is within us. It all starts from one person. There is no point wandering all around to know who that one person is because that person is you. Yes, I guess you heard it right. It’s all upon an individual to make a difference in the society. It all starts from the revolution within. When we start respecting ourselves and others then we can see a chain reaction formulating peace in our surroundings.

Dialogue is a key for attaining world peace. By engaging in a dialogue we can break through the walls of hatred and jealousy thereby constructing a world based on the spirit of mutual respect. Dialogue gives us the wisdom to empathize with others. Dialogue brings in evolution of human beings as we learn to respect views, ideas and opinions of our fellow human beings. Peace through dialogue has a ripple effect. It starts building on one another.

We need courage to engage in a dialogue, endurance to develop a relationship and empathy to respect an individual. Unless we take this route there is no way that we can stop hatred, jealousy, crime and WAR.

As we have seen that a nuclear explosion is a result of a number of chain reactions that take place within, similarly, the route of engaging people in a dialogue seems to be a long tread, however, it has a potential to form a humongous wave that will save humanity from the onslaught of war.

World peace thus rest in our hands. Its upon us to build a world full of respect, humanity, love and peace.
